eDAS Final Review at AVL-LIST and QPUNKT

25th - 26th January 2017 / Graz

On 25th and 26th of January the eDAS consortium members met in Graz to show the project results of the eDAS-Project.

On the first day the reviewers had a intense look at the results of the project at AVL-LIST, where the project task leaders held the presentations of the different workpackages.

The presentation of the different demonstrators at Qpunkt to show the integration of multiple components and the validation of the wireless charger.

eDAS participated Wireless Power Transfer Conference

The Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK), part of the Technical University Dresden (TUD), contributed the Wireless Power Transfer Conference 2014 (WPTC2014) in Jeju, Korea with a presentation titled "Lightweight Coil for Efficient Wireless Power Transfer". The corresponding paper was authored within the scope of the research and development done within SC1 of the eDAS project and is therefore part of WP6 (exploitation and examination)

Lightweight Coil for Efficient Wireless Power Transfer

While most wireless power transfer (WPT) systems are designed for mobile application such as automotive or consumer electronics, there was no special focus on a lightweight design. In this paper losses of WPT coils are analyzed in detail with 2D FEM methods and the results lead to new design rules for WPT coils. In general more conductive material increases the weight and the electrical efficiency. But for WPT systems there is an optimal efficiency and increasing the amount of conductive material will decrease it.

eDAS kickoff meeting

At October the 8th and 9th, the kickoff meeting of eDAS took place in Graz. Hosts where the ViF ("Kompetenzzentrum - Das Virtuelle Fahrzeug Forschungsgesellschaft mbH" at the technical university of Graz) and the AVL List company. The 15 project partners met under the leadership of Infineon Technologies company to start working on the eDAS project. Topics concerning the work distribution and the project communication where discussed in Graz. Futhermore a cooperation with the projects iCompose and Incobat was set up in a project cluster, to define interfaces for the hard- and software platforms used and developed within the project. This will simplify work in a future system-integration phase of the project.

iCompose and Incobat started their projects aswell on October 1st. They had their first meeting in Graz from October 7th to October 8th.

eDAS meeting FES GmbH in Zwickau

The eDAS consortium met Fahrzeug Entwicklung Sachsen GmbH (FES) in Zwickau/Germany on April 15th 2014 for a cooperational conference. A possible collaboration for the development of a demonstrator car utilizing eDAS components were part of a productive discussion.
